Bio
I work as a special education teacher in Atlanta, Georgia. The school where I teach is very unique because not only is it a private school for students with disabilities but it also specializes in one-on-one and small group teaching. We go out in the community and participate in, "Community-Based Instruction." Monday-Friday, we volunteer with community partners, like Chick-Fil-A, a non-profit organization, a local grocery store, and Barnes and Noble. On Friday, we participate in, "Community Access," where one student each week, chooses a restaurant, of his/her choice, for everyone to try.

I decided to pursue my graduate degree in Transition to gain more knowledge on how I can better assist my students as they transition into adulthood. As our school continues improving our transition program, my goal is to help students achieve success and reach their maximum potential for post-school success while also helping my colleagues by discussing and implementing everything I've learned within this program.
